NCS Meta Programme 2023/24
Who are we?
Child Dynamix is a children and families’ charity providing local and city wide services in Hull. We are proud of the difference we have made since becoming a registered charity in 2005.
Our day nurseries, holiday club and crèche provision can help with child care, whilst our family support team can offer help and information with a range of family issues.
We have a dedicated youth team delivering play, sport sessions and one to one support for young people.

Rewilding Youth is a Not-For-Profit Community Interest Company that is passionate about providing inspirational opportunities for young people living in urban environments to get outside and have fun connecting with this beautiful world around us.

Probe Hull Ltd supports local people to fulfil their potential by offering a range of opportunities and services relating to advice and guidance, employment, training and enterprise.

Bushcraft
Bushcraft is generally defined as the use and practice of outdoor skills, thereby acquiring and developing knowledge and understanding, in order to survive and thrive in a natural environment.
The sort of skills that young people will practice and develop in our bushcraft sessions include:
Fire lighting
Shelter building
Foraging (identifying and gathering wild foods)
Campfire cooking
Tracking
Whittling
Flint knapping...
the list goes on!

Green Woodwork
Green Woodwork can also be known as ‘woodmanship’ and means working with wood and tools in a traditional way that communities going back thousands of years would recognise.

Traditional craft and green wood work sessions generally involve woodwork without the use of nails and screws - and with a focus on hand tools rather than power tools.

Tree Planting
We work in partnership with The Humber Forest and have lots of tree planting projects that you can help us with; these are a great way to learn more about how to grow, plant and look after trees and are great experiences to put on your CV!

Natural Crafts
Our Natural Crafts sessions involve making and creating using only natural materials such as shells, earth, wood, bark, acorns, leaves - basically anything we can find in the natural world!
Activities include:
Earth pot building with natural clay
Willow weaving
Charcoal making
Spoon making
Basket weaving
Natural dyeing
mosaics
Weaving
again, the list goes on...

Wild Walks

Sometimes it's just good to get away! We like to fill up our mini-bus with young people and go off into the wild to trek some of the beautiful wild areas in our region. Sometimes it's the Yorkshire Wolds, sometimes it's the North York Moors and sometimes it's a breezy and bright beach walk. A full day of freedom, fresh-air and friendships - what's not to like?

Personal Development
School and College is not always the best place for every young person - we understand that.
We work with qualified and experienced youth workers and support workers to offer one to one and (very) small group sessions for young people for whom being at school or college is sometimes difficult.

Work Experience
We work in partnership with many organisations and businesses across Hull to provide you with a work placement as part of the programme.
We will work with you to provide the right placement for you.
Who knows - it may even lead to a job!
